Course Objectives

The Nevada Real Estate Practice pre-license course is designed to prepare the student for successful passage of the Nevada real estate license exam. In order to achieve this goal, the course content and testing materials are geared towards obtaining knowledge and an acceptable level of comprehension relating to the required course topics. After completing the course the student should know and recall the definition of common terms, basic real estate concepts, methods, procedures and principles. The student will also be able to understand and interpret the basic concepts and principles learned and apply those principles to fact situations.

How to Complete the Course

Nevada requires as a part of its pre-license requirements the completion of the study and mastery of an approved 90 hour course in real estate practice and law. The OnlineEd 90 hour Nevada Real Estate Practice course is organized into an introduction and 18 chapters as follows:

At the end of each chapter there are two exercise sets. The review exercises will focus the student's attention on key concepts presented in the chapter. The review exercises are geared towards testing the student's knowledge and comprehension of the presented material. The student may find it helpful to refer back to the text relating to the question being asked. The answers given are reported to the student's instructor for progress monitoring.

The review exercise questions at the end of each chapter are in two formats. There is a series of multiple choice questions that must be done online and is automatically graded by the OnlineEd system. The score on this quiz is reported to the student's instructor for student progress monitoring. There is also a fill in the blank section. The correct answers to this exercise are available upon completion of the exercise. The fill in the blank questions will help the student focus on the keys points raised in the chapter's material. The student may find it helpful to refer back to the text relating to the question being asked. The answers given are reported to the student's instructor for progress monitoring.

At the end of the entire course, the student is required to take a Final Examination. This examination must be taken online. Access to the final examination may be given by the student's instructor after the instructor feels that the student is ready to take the final exam. The final exam contains 225 questions in a multiple choice format. A score of 75% or better is required for passage. The OnlineEd system will instantaneously grade the test and return to the student the test score. If the student did not pass the final examination, the student will be required to retake the examination. The examination may be retaken after 48 hours after the prior final examination was graded. During the 48 hour period, the student should review the text material relating to the missed test questions.

The student should also pay special attention to the bank of exam questions that are contained in the Practice Test Questions accessible from the student's course management page. These questions are presented to assist the student in preparation for the state real estate exam.

Student Material/Equipment Required

The OnlineEd course is presented via the internet. In order to be able to access the course and in order to complete the course, the student will need a computer with an internet connection and a web browser. All major operating systems and web browsers are supported. (This includes Windows, MacOS, Linux, and BSD/Unix operating systems; Internet Explorer, Firefox/Mozilla, Opera and Safari web browsers.)

All of the course material may be read online. However, it is recommended that the student print the course material and put the material in binder notebooks. This will allow for use of the course material for future reference material and in many cases, will make review of the material prior to taking the state examination much easier. In order to print the materials the student should have a compatible printer, paper, binder/notebook, and chapter tabs.

Testing Information

The student will be asked to verify their identity prior to taking any final examination. The student will be asked to enter certain personal information given at the time of registration.
All test scores are reported to the student's instructor for possible follow-up.

OnlineEd File Cabinet

The OnlineEd file cabinet contains resource information including Nevada Revised Statutes, Nevada Annotated Code, Forms and Documents, Glossary of Terms, and Articles and Support Reference Material.
Throughout the course chapters, the student will be referred to the OnlineEd file cabinet support materials. These support materials will give the student an opportunity to amplify the material presented in the course text material.

Completion and Assignment Timelines

This Nevada Pre-License Course may be completed by the student at the student's own pace. The course is designed to take 90 hours to complete. The time will be spent on reading the course text materials, studying the text materials to ensure concept understanding, completion of the course exercise sets, review of support material, taking the state practice exam questions relating to the module and successful passage of the course final examination. All exercise sets must be passed with a minimum score of 70% or greater and the course final examination must be passed with a minimum score of 75% or greater. There is no required progress with respect to proceeding with the course materials that is required of any student. Each student is solely responsible for their course progress, if any.

Deadlines

The student has 365 days from the time of initial course registration to complete the course material and pass final examination. At the end of the 365 day period, the student will be denied further access to the course materials. The student will be required to re-register and pay for any modules not completed, if the student desires to proceed with the course.

Course Price

The course includes all course material and testing materials as required by the Nevada Real Estate Division. The course price also includes exam preparation materials. These materials consist of practice exam questions and key points and concepts to remember summaries. The price of the course includes a registration fee of $35.00.

Prerequisites, Credit for Previous Training and Entrance Requirements

There are no prerequisites required prior to taking the OnlineEd Nevada Real Estate Practice course.
In order to obtain a salespersons real estate license the following requirements must be met as set for in the Nevada Administrative Code 645.100:
NAC 645.100 Applicant for license as real estate salesman: Minimum age; requirements.
An applicant for a license as a real estate salesman must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Include with an application submitted to the Division pursuant to NRS 645.350:
    • His fingerprint card as required pursuant to NRS 645.355
    • Proof that he has satisfied the educational requirements for a license as a real estate salesman as set forth in NRS 645.343
    • In accordance with NRS 645.358, the statement prescribed by the Division of Welfare and Supportive Services of the Department of Health and Human Services pursuant to NRS 425.520
    • Proof that he has received a passing grade as described in NAC 645.220 on the examination for the license
    • The verified statement required by NRS 645.350
    • Any information required pursuant to NAC 645.150, including, without limitation, proof of honesty, truthfulness and good reputation

The student is advised to contact the Nevada Real Estate Division to determine whether the student will be eligible to sit for the Nevada Real Estate Salesperson License Examination. No credit for previous training is recognized for the Nevada Real Estate Practices course. The Nevada Real Estate Practices course is 90 hours of course work that must be completed in full with OnlineEd prior to OnlineEd granting a certificate of course completion.

Nevada Real Estate Exam Prep

The Exam Prep Pak will assist the student in preparation for the state real estate exam. The exam preparation materials consist of Points to Remember and Practice Exam Questions. The Points to Remember are a summary of the points contained in each course chapter that are necessary for exam passage. The Practice Exam Questions are a series of practice questions, organized by course chapter topic, that are very similar to those that may appear on the state real estate exam. A good working knowledge of the Points to Remember and the Practice Exam Questions will prepare the student for the successful passage of the real estate examination.
